British Columbia Prosperity Project

About Us

Our Mission

B.C. Prosperity Project

The B.C. Prosperity Project exists to educate, unite, and empower British Columbians to take ownership of their future and rebuild confidence in democratic governance. We are a grassroots, citizen-led civic movement, not a political party and not a lobby group. We believe real change starts with honest discussion, clear information, and shared conviction.
We do not want to leave Canada or British Columbia.
But we recognize that Canada and B.C. have left many people behind – economically , socially, and politically.

Our mission is to:

  • Clarify why independence and a Constitutional Republic deserve serious discussion
  • Promote pathways toward greater provincial self-determination
  • Defend individual freedoms, prosperity, and democratic engagement
  • Provide tools, education, and structure for people to participate meaningfully
  • Organize credible and constructive dialogue across communities

About B.C. Prosperity

Peter LeTourneux has long seen the structural inequities in confederation and worked for independence from Ottawa. With Alberta Prosperity Project’s example shining next door he launched “The BC Prosperity Project” Facebook group on January 25 and its meteoric rise indicates a very real appetite to decouple from Ottawa’s disastrous control.

A meeting was held in Campbell River on February 2 attracting people from up & down Vancouver Island and mainland BC as well as a sizeable group of protesters.

The Lions Club Hall was nearly at capacity as the evening unfolded, with rousing oratory from Alberta’s Chris Scott.

Talk of BC separation has long been suppressed but events cracked the discussion open with Castanet running an online poll, which they shut down early when it was trending sideways.
